Hey Reader,
It's a busy few weeks for me with some travel and a ton of prep work for Craft + Commerce this week. I am so excited to be back in person this year, and I hope to see you there!
Last week I went up to Kelowna, BC to speak at my friend Dan Martell's event for SaaS founders. Because Boise and Kelowna are fairly close, but don't have direct flights, I chartered a private flight—which meant my mom could come! It was a fun weekend of waterfront runs, wine tours, and workshops.
I shared some of my favorite tips and tricks about money on Twitter and people really responded to it. Here are a couple from the thread that I think everyone should know.

In this episode I talk to Justin Moore. Justin is a Sponsorship Coach & the founder of Creator Wizard, a school & community that teaches you how to find & negotiate your dream brand deals.
My favorite part of the episode is when we dive into From Boise, my side project newsletter. Justin breaks down what we’re doing wrong with sponsorships, how we should be selling them, and how there’s quite a bit more to be earned. We also dive into the way he runs his newsletter and how he’s grown it.
Do you know what my second highest income source is? It's also where I have most of my personal wealth outside of ConvertKit: Real estate.
That is one of the many reasons I asked LEX to sponsor my newsletter.

Bill Walsh was a legendary NFL coach, and a true student of human nature. He was a brilliant leader and this book shares how he did it. It's really interesting to not only hear his philosophies and principles, but also story after story of how he implemented those and really got the best out of the people he was leading. It's a great read for anyone leading a group of any size!
Have a great week,
Nathan

Hey Reader, A lot of the rules we built our work habits around made sense before AI. Some of them held up for decades. Right now, in early 2026, I think it's worth asking which ones still do. Here are five things I think are worth throwing out: 1. Detailed mid-level planning Knowing where you're going is still important. But the master plan that used to live between the destination and the work itself is mostly just a way to delay starting. Before, mapping out how all the systems connect just...
Hey Reader, If I say something dumb, I'm probably still replaying it in my head 11 years later. Just me? It’s an exhausting feeling. You're not really solving anything, you're just reliving the moment over and over. And when you're building a business, there's always something new to add to the pile. After a while, it gets hard to tell which things actually need your attention and which ones you've just been dragging around. Start by writing everything down. When a worry stays in your head,...
Hey Reader, Attending a conference is one of the highest-leverage things you can do as a creator. Three days in person will accelerate a relationship more than six months of talking online. The people you meet at events can often become your business partners, collaborators, and even some of your closest friends. But only if you know how to use the time. Here are my top 10 tips for getting the most out of conferences: 1. Choose the right conference Not every conference is worth your time. The...
