Hey Reader,
How's it going this week? It's spring here in Boise and I'm loving it. We've started playing volleyball, planting the garden, and just generally getting outside more.
Sam Parr recommended this book to me and it was fantastic. It's the story of the Comanche empire's rise and fall over 250+ years. You get to watch as technology and politics collide in the story of this warrior tribe. Fair warning, it's pretty brutal. You leave with a more nuanced view of the history of the American west.
This is Sahil’s second time on the show. He’s doubled his audience from an already large number since then, and he’s now a full-time creator.
Sahil is someone I’d love to have on the show every six months or every year. He’s putting out incredible content. I’ve probably learned more from Sahil in the last few months than I have from any other person.
We talk about Twitter growth, monetization, growing a podcast, and newsletters. I also try to sell him on switching to ConvertKit. You can be the judge of how well I did convincing him.
I have no idea what I'm doing on TikTok, but here it is if you want to follow along as I try to learn. I'm starting with posting my favorite clips from the podcast.
I'll still focus my time on Twitter (I've added 25,000 followers in the last couple months), but this TikTok account could grow into a good foundation for when I focus on it in the future.
You can now offer payment plans with the digital products you sell using ConvertKit. When you’re selling higher-ticketed products, like masterminds or coaching packages, you can make it more affordable to your audience by letting them pay for it in installments instead of a single upfront payment.
Talk to you next week,
Nathan

Hey Reader, What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? You’ve probably seen some version of this question before. It’s a good one, though sometimes the answer isn’t immediately obvious. That’s why I like Graham Weaver’s 8 questions for what to do with your life. Graham founded the private equity firm Alpine Investors, and he teaches at Stanford. In Chapter 2 of my upcoming book, The Ladders of Wealth, I credit him with a principle he shared with his MBA students called "worse first",...
Hey Reader, If I could solve only one thing in my business, that would have the biggest impact, what would that be? This is the question every great entrepreneur obsesses over. Rather than trying to do everything at once, you look for the bottleneck and focus on solving that. There’s a book called The Goal by an Israeli physicist named Eliyahu Goldratt. It’s a 1984 business novel that business systems nerds love. However if you’re not a business systems nerd you probably… won’t love it. It’s...
Hey Reader, Have you ever spent money on something and immediately felt guilty afterward? Will Guidara spends his money foolishly on purpose. And he thinks you should too. He once bought an entire barrel of whiskey and put it in his basement. He also put a skee-ball machine in the office. Is he going to get a monetary return on either of these things? No. But that’s kind of the point. He calls it the 95/5 rule: Manage your money and time like a maniac 95% of the time (no expense is too...
