Hey there,

Its inauguration week here in the US and I am hoping for a peaceful and smooth event. It's been fascinating to live through such a historically impactful year, but honestly I'm ready for some uneventful moments.

FROM CREATOR SESSIONS

GoldFord

Jeffrey GoldFord's creator session was really an awesome one. He talked about finding his voice as an artist, and shares his newest release with us. He wrote Walk With Me during the pandemic as a message of hope and togetherness. One of the silver linings about historically hard times is the art that comes out of them, and this song is certainly a part of that.

WHAT I'M READING

Stop causing unforced errors

This short article by my friend Sol Orwell was so good. How many times do we caused unforced errors in our businesses or our lives, just by overthinking or over engineering? What would it look like to sit back, play the smarter game, and wait for the right moment to strike?

WHAT I'M READING

Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey's memoir was a really fun listen. I listened on Audible and I loved hearing him do all the accents and characters, it made for a really fun experience. He's ridiculous and lovable and weird in every way you'd expect him to be, and he has some pretty incredible stories. So instead of drafting something and having to copy and paste from your AI into other tools, your AI can do that for you automatically. Tag subscribers in Kit, create sequences, and draft and send...

Hey Reader, When I meet two people at the same stage of building their business, I can usually tell within the first few minutes which one is going places. A friend of mine recently opened a Peruvian restaurant. It's fast casual, similar to Chipotle, and from the very first conversation it was clear he was building this business to franchise. He knew that before the doors had even opened. That's different from someone opening a single great restaurant that they hope does well. Both are fine...

Flying

Hey Reader, I just hit an exciting milestone: I passed my instrument rating test. If you're not a pilot, the instrument rating is what lets you fly in clouds and low visibility. Which is great because now I don’t have to wait for clear skies. Having this rating ultimately means I’m able to fly more safely, since I can rely on my instruments even in situations where I can’t see, but it also affords me more freedom. It felt great to have it done, as I've been working toward this for a while,...
